About Creative Art Classes

Hi, I’m Carrie, 

I’ve been running art classes since 2015, and I officially launched Creative Art Classes in 2020. My goal was simple: to help people discover and embrace art as a truly fulfilling pastime.

Our Approach

We know that starting a new hobby, especially art, can feel a bit intimidating. With so many styles, mediums, and techniques out there, it’s easy to feel lost. That’s why at Creative Art Classes, we’re dedicated to removing the barriers and making art accessible and enjoyable for everyone whether they are an absolute beginner or a more experienced artist looking to explore, be inspired or meet other artists.

Learner Led Curriculum

Your feedback is incredibly important to us. We constantly listen to our students to understand what you want to learn and the challenges you face. This allows us to continuously review and refine our curriculum, ensuring we deliver projects that genuinely inspire you and help you progress on your art journey.

We take the confusion away by teaching you foundational art skills. Plus, we provide all the tools and materials you need to get started. Once you’ve grasped the fundamentals, our projects will empower you to confidently explore new techniques and styles.

We’re very selective about who joins our team. Our tutors and class assistants are chosen not only for their exceptional artistic abilities but also for their warmth, compassion, and genuine desire to help you achieve your artistic goals.

Every tutor at Creative Art Classes follows our unified approach to teaching and curriculum. This means the high-quality, inspiring, and flexible learning experience you value is found in all of our classes at all locations.

The Team

Carolyn

Lead Tutor
Carolyn, our art class tutor in Basingstoke & Newbury

Carolyn is our tutor in Basingstoke, Newbury and East Meon.

Carolyn loves all aspects of art and teaching. We love hearing her encouraging sayings such as “Risk it for a biscuit” and “To compare is to despair”.

Carolyn also works out all the projects for us. She’s just amazing.

Lynn

Admin/Social Media/Class Assistant
Lynn, our class assistant in Basingstoke

Lynn is our class assistant at Basingstoke, she’s also our social media guru and admin assistant too.

Lynn has many hats and is the oracle. If Lynn doesn’t know something, then it’s not worth knowing.

Karolina

Class Assistant
Karolina, our class assistant in Newbury, Berkshire

Karolina is our class assistant in Newbury, keeping things running smoothly and with a smile. She’s the kind of person who’s already handing you what you need before you’ve even realised you need it.

Calm, cheerful, and quietly brilliant — we’re very glad to have her on the team. 

Julie

Tutor
Julie, our art class tutor in Horsham, West Sussex

Julie is such a warm, lovely person who enjoys a spot of portraiture in her spare time; both pets and humans.

Julie is the tutor in our Horsham classes.

Class Assistant
Nicky, our art class assistant in Horsham, West Sussex

Nicky is class assistant at our Horsham class. Great friends with Julie for years, and it shows;  they are an excellent team, making sure everyone has what they need.

Kerry

Tutor
Kerry, our art class tutor in Farnham & Guildford

Kerry is our tutor in Farnham & Guildford. She’s such a warm fun person, who is very nurturing and calm under any conditions.

Kerry enjoys making jewellery in her spare time as well as enjoying a nature inspired practice of drawing and painting.

Fiona is our class assistant in Farnham. She’s just the most bubbly, warm and welcoming soul you could wish to meet, encouraging and motivating, making sure everyone has all that they need in class.

Tara is our class assistant in Guildford and Woking ensuring everyone has everything they need to create their artwork. She’s warm and friendly, making everyone feel at home.

A master in gently encouraging students along their art journey as well as ensuring access to the biscuits in times of need.

Nic

Tutor

Nic is our tutor in Woking. She is passionate about all things art and loves sharing that enthusiasm with our students.

Warm, patient and nurturing, she creates a relaxed and encouraging space to learn, and when she’s not teaching for us she enjoys working with flowers through her love of floristry
