Is the 10-Week Art Course suitable for absolute beginners?
Yes, absolutely. As a beginner you will be taught the basic fundamentals of art that will give you the essential skills and confidence to tackle the projects.
Our students have a wide range of ability and our projects are carefully designed to help each student expand their skills and grow as an artist. Your tutor will get to know you and what your goals are allowing them to give you personal tuition to help you achieve them.
How much is the 10-Week Art Course?
The 10-Week Art Course is £325 per term.
This fee includes ten weeks of art tuition and creating your own art. There are no lessons for framing or exhibitions, you spend all ten weeks drawing and painting.
All materials for each project are provided except paper and pencils, which you can bring yourself or optionally purchase when you enrol.
You also receive two printed handouts every lesson and access to a video of the live demonstration by your own tutor.
I already have some art experience, will the course be too basic for me?
Yes, our 10-Week Art Course is suitable for beginners and more experienced artists. Our projects are carefully designed to be suitable for everyone.
If you already have some experience creating art or have attended another art class and feel confident in the fundamental art skills, you can join in straight away with the regular students without the foundation course.
You can still do the foundation course for a refresher if you wish, it’s entirely up to you. You can discuss your personal situation with us and we’ll help you make the best choice for you.
What will I learn?
You’ll start by focusing on foundational skills in drawing and painting, allowing us to gauge skill levels.
Our teaching approach is flexible, offering personalised one-on-one guidance to help students progress at their own pace.
Throughout the course, you’ll have the opportunity to work with various media such as pencil, charcoal, watercolour, and acrylics. We’ll show you how to properly use each tool and introduce techniques to create different effects.
Additional materials like soft pastels, gouache, coloured pencils, watercolour pencils, ink, and more may also be introduced, depending on the term.
What does a typical lesson involve?
Each 3-hour lesson starts with a live demonstration of the project you’ll be working on.
After that, you’ll receive plenty of individual support, with us offering feedback and guidance to refine your artwork.
You’ll also be provided with detailed handouts, step-by-step instructions, and additional resources to help you during the lesson.
There’s a short break midway through for complimentary tea, coffee, and biscuits, giving you a chance to relax, chat with your classmates, and return to your artwork with a fresh perspective.
What happens if I miss a lesson?
We record all demonstrations so that you can catch up if you miss a lesson due to holidays, appointments or being unwell.
These recordings, along with class materials, can be revisited any time, helping you stay on track.
However, since the course fee reserves your spot, we are unable to offer refunds or drop-in sessions for any missed classes.
Do I need to bring my own materials?
We provide all necessary paints, brushes, and tools in class, so you don’t need to worry about bringing your own. Everything will be ready for you when you arrive.
The only things you’ll need are a sketchbook, paper, and pencils; these aren’t included in the course fee. If you don’t already have these, we offer a Student Art Bag for £29.50, which includes a sketchbook, pencils, specialist paper, and other essentials.
We also recommend wearing old clothes during painting sessions or bringing an apron. Most students store these items in their Art Bag for convenience.

The student Art Bag includes:
- High-quality A4 Sketchbook containing nice, thick paper of 220gsm, suitable for all media, including watercolour,

If you already own similar items but still need the specialist paper, we also offer A3 Paper Pack for £15. Your preferred choice can be added at checkout when booking your course
