Master new techniques in a single day. Our focused, one-day workshops provide the dedicated time and expert guidance you need to explore new mediums and complete a finished artwork.

For our Summer 2026 Workshop we’re exploring the exciting medium of water-based oil paints which provide the beauty and flexibility of oil paints without the harsh chemicals. 

Who is it for?

The workshop  is aimed at artists who want to explore oil painting techniques under the guidance or one of expert tutors.

The workshop is perfect for people who’d like to try oil painting without the chemicals and smells associated with traditional oil painting.

The workshop is not suitable for absolute beginners but expert guidance, printed guides and a live demonstration will enable even inexperienced artists to produce a wonderful piece to take home.

What's Included

The One Day Workshop costs £79 for the full day. You can secure your place by enrolling at one our locations online.

The course fee includes the following:

Student receiving tuition from one of our expert tutors.
  • Art Materials
    We set out all the materials you’ll need for the session, including paints, brushes and specialist tools. Our class materials are provided for you to use in class, so you don’t need to bring your own.
  • Live Demonstrations
    Watch your tutor demonstrate how to do each project, give tips and answer questions before you begin to draw and paint.
  • Printed Guides
    For every project you will receive a prep sheet with general tips and also a step-by-step guide to help you complete the project. These are yours to keep to help remind you of what you have learned.
  • Personal One-to-One Tuition
    As you work on your art you will receive personal tuition tailored to you and your goals.
  • Video
    You gain access to a video of the live demonstration given by your own tutor so you can revisit it any time.
  • Refreshments
    Tea, coffee and biscuits are provided throughout and treats for special occasions.

How Each Session Works

  • 1. Everything set up before you arrive
    Your workstation is prepared before you arrive, with all the materials you’ll need to create your artwork in class — no need to bring your own.
  • 2. Live demonstration
    Your tutor begins the workshop with a step-by-step demonstration of the project, showing you how to get started and how to use the key techniques and methods.
  • 3. Create your art
    You will receive a prep sheet with general tips and also a step-by-step guide to help you complete the project. These are yours to keep to help remind you of what you have learned.
  • 4. Review
    Share your work and get feedback from your tutor and fellow students.
  • 5. Take your art home
    Take your art home to show friends and family or continue working on it.
  • 6. Revisit key learning
    The step-by-step guide is yours to keep and you also get access to a video of the live demonstration so you can revisit the key techniques.
